GM Foods Scandal

On May 13, 2003, the day the U.S. filed a lawsuit with the World Trade Organization (WTO), claiming that the European Union’s restrictive policy on GM food violates international agreements; U.S. Trade Representative Robert Zoellick declared, “Overwhelming scientific research shows that biotech foods are safe and healthy.”

This statement is blatantly untrue. No GM Food has been scientifically proven safe, and many scientists believe that the reverse is true.

Why are GM crops shunned by animals in the wild? Why is Africa refusing to accept them even as food aid to feed their starving people? Why has the ‘Golden Rice’ program proved to be an expensive folly, and why have allergies to Soya increased by 50% in the UK since the GM modified material was released?

With plummeting sales the USA wants to inflict GM foods and crops upon Europe before they are proved safe as is required by it own laws.
